Water temperature sensors – a new product in Triscan’s sensor programme

Tech news

In its attempt to make the sourcing of complex product areas easy for wholesalers and distributors, Triscan now increases its already extensive sensor programme with water temperature sensors. The programme includes more than 100 references, and thus meets Triscan’s goal of providing the most complete programmes in the market.

For the wholesaler, this is an obvious upsell opportunity in a complex product line that until now has required several suppliers in order to obtain an adequate coverage. Like Triscan's other sensors, the water temperature sensors are all manufactured in OE quality, and production is subject to the automotive industry's strict quality standard TS 16949. Each sensor also undergoes Triscan’s standard quality tests as well as a 100% function test.

One of the new products within the sensor programme, is the water temperature sensor

Typical construction with water temperature sensor

The water temperature sensor is typically located either at the thermostat housing or on the engine block, measuring the cooling water temperature, which is used for the vehicle engine control (ECU). The information is used to control the mixing ratio of air and fuel, to control the ignition timing, and for controlling the electric radiator fan (s). Certain types are also used also to control warning light and temperature gauge in the dashboard.
